Cluaranach grew from more than 30 years of involvement in club motorsport, particularly Formula Ford, and a long-standing interest in the cars, the market and the people around them. Today we buy, sell and source historic and classic competition cars, parts and specialist equipment for customers in the UK and overseas.
The Story
More than 30 years in Formula Ford
Scott Guthrie first raced Formula Ford 1600 in 1989, finishing second in only his sixth race. A career overseas interrupted racing between 1994 and 2006, before a return to competition in 2010.
Since then, Formula Ford has remained at the heart of his motorsport involvement — racing cars from several eras, buying and selling cars and parts, and building a network of contacts across the paddock and beyond.

The Next Generation
Still very much family business
Cluaranach is also becoming a family affair. Scott's son Gavin, is studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield and is increasingly involved with the cars alongside his studies.
Having recently made his own FF1600 race debut in a modern Ray GR14, he's now experiencing the sport from both sides of the pit wall.
A Practical Base
Our workshop in Halifax
Cluaranach operates from a well-equipped workshop in Halifax, West Yorkshire, with space for cars, parts and preparation, together with a dedicated set-up floor.
It provides a practical base for inspecting, storing and preparing the cars we handle, as well as supporting our growing parts and spares business.
